I like Hydrafinil(Fluorenol) and I kind of miss it. I can say that while fluoromodafinil(CRL-40,940) is a very effective eugeroic(wakefulness enhancer), and it's good for concentration as well, it doesn't boost mood like Hydrafinil does. Fluoromodafinil also lasts way too long (about 9 to 14+ hours). I assume the subtle yet smooth mood boost of Hydrafinil has something to do with 5HT6 antagonism. 5HT6 antagonism increases cognition and gives a subtle yet effective mood boost(it's speculated that 5HT6 antagonism increases dopamine and norepinephrine in the frontal cortex of the brain in a safe way). Hydrafinil is the only eugeroic capable of doing this. I might get more Hydrafinil(fluorenol) later on. I suffer from mild depression, and Hydrafinil seems to make the mild depression go away. I also like the short duration of Fluorenol(around 4 to 6 hours). The short duration of Hydrafinil(Fluorenol) is a bonus, because I could even use it in the afternoon and still get good sleep at night.

I don't use nootropics often. Though I did use a lot of prolintane in the past. I was interested in eugeroics(wakefulness enhancers) for a while. I read about them and there are currently about 7 to 10 eugeroics currently. At the time, I read about fluorenol's better eugeroic capacity, and other information. I finally decided to get Hydrafinil(fluorenol). My dose range was usually 50mg to 125mg. It was pretty subtle, but I noticed higher awareness in my surroundings, better wakefulness, reduced sleepiness, and a subtle but noticeable mood boost. Sometimes it made me sleepy. But then it turned out I had a huge load of sleep debt before the fluorenol and it helped me pay it off. Afterwards, I noticed that the wakefulness was even more present with fluorenol. Sometimes, fluorenol made me awake for 5 hours and after the effects wear off around, I could sleep more efficiently. Sometimes, the afternoon after I take fluorenol, I could sleep 7 or 8 hours and still feel refreshed. I once used 200mg to go to the airport at 3am. A whole night without sleep because I had to be at the airport on time. I was up until 7:30am or 8am. I slept 4 or 5 hours on the plane and woke up oddly refreshed. Later on, I took a big nap in the afternoon. Maybe the residual fluorenol has gone away from my body? I successfully avoided jet lag thanks to fluorenol. Best stuff ever!
Let me begin by stating that I’m not a regular nootropic user. I received two grams of Fluorenola couple of weeks ago, and having tested it a few times I’ll share my thoughts on how I’ve found it.
I had a couple of days of intense partying (Aug 24/25); I was tired and had only had a couple of hours sleep the night I took my first dose, and none at all the previous night. I was interested to see if and how it might affect me whilst being so sleep deprived. My first dose was 50mg, followed by 30mg two hours later. The effect was subtle, but I was pleased with that. I fell asleep shortly after the next 30mg and slept well.
I often use stimulants to manage my stress and anxiety which I don’t think I handle too well, although I am now avoiding those outside of recreation. The following day I had a lot of paperwork to catch up on, so I thought to try another 50mg dose. It worked amazingly! Considering I felt so awful due to everything I had taken the previous weekend, of my own fault of course, I actually think I had the most productive day I have had in something like a year. My brain felt fine-tuned and all the negative thoughts and stresses felt as though they were being converted into productivity. Bit of a silly week, didn’t notice any sort of crash though, probably because of this.
I usually get really tired around 3pm every day, to the extent of needing a nap. Regardless of caffeine intake, my body just crashes at this time. I had a lab at 4pm yesterday. So again I thought I’d try a 50mg dose of hydrafinil at 2pm to see if I could avoid this crash and wow! I felt wonderful until around 7.30pm. My whole brain just felt “on”, analogous to the feeling when you just wake up. My task avoidance was controllable, social interactions were enhanced and came so easily, and my already reasonable levels of focus were heightened. The boost was subtle but still there. Later on, I felt tired. A positive tired though; I still felt good. Thirty minutes later, this tiredness vanished to the extent that I dropped by at a friend’s party and felt good.
"I am not the normal demographic for nootropics in my opinion. And I don’t use them reguarly either other than the occasional coffee and energy but that’s more for the taste than the stimulant. However I thought I would try Fluorenol so I got a couple of grams of 9-Fluorenol a cople of weeks ago. I will talk about the effects and my overall expereince of taking it within the course of two days and if it helped or not.
I took Fluorenol after a very busy weekend of work, I was at work in the evenings and in the library during the days doing Universaity work. I then started my week of with a long day of placement work at University after this I needed something to give me more energy. I first took 50mg then 30 mg two hours later. Due to my hectic weeekend I didn’t get much sleep so I thought I would give Fluorenol a go and see its effects.
After taking the first amount of Fluorenol I felt great, it seemed to work really well! I don’t know if this is because it was my first time using it or not but this felt good! When I am always busy I find it hard as sometimes I let things build up which make me become more stressed and anxious. This is a reason why I have tried stimulants before however I have always stayed away from ones outside of recreation.
After the first day of taking Fluorenol I felt great and had one of the most productive days ever! Any feelings of stress of anxitety seemed to be converted in positive productivity. There was no obvious crash or low part which is a good start as this means there might not be any neagtive sides effects.
Second day in and I had another hetic day starting from 11am so there was no early start, thankfully. I did have a crash at 5 though, I felt really tired and needed to nap! I thought about just getting a coffee in the library but instead I took 50ml of 9-Fluorenol and felt great for a few hours. It was a buzz, like caffeine gives you, where everything seemed “on” and happy.
This made my concentration, interaction and work management levels increase and made the library session a lot easier!
Once it started to wear off there wasn’t any obvious change, I just slowly started to feel a bit more tired but still felt pleasant. There was no sudden change or drop in mood just slightly tired, how most people feel on a general basis.
Once I finsihed in the library I still felt fine and was even able to pop into my friends house on the way home. We ended up getting chinese takeaway this helped my mood too!!"
OK, I have never taken a nootropic before but recently I just needed to keep myself awake. Completing my dissertation and going out three nights in a week really don’t mix. A trusted friend recommended fluorenol, and I was so taken aback by the results I wanted to share my experience. I started off with 30mg, just to see what the effects would be. This was a week before my dissertation deadline, and I had already been out at a 21st party until 3am the night before. No matter how many coffees I drank, I was falling asleep at my desk. After taking an initial dose of fluorenol, I didn’t feel any effects, so three hours later I took another 30mg. While I didn’t notice any significant effects, I did manage to do some work for a couple of hours before going to bed. Fortunately I had no trouble sleeping. It was just as well considering I was due to go to another 21st party the next day. In the morning (April 20) I tried a slightly higher dose of fluorenol, 50mg, not really expecting much to happen. The difference 20mg can make! My morning was productive, I reached 10,000 words for my dissertation and I no longer felt like staying in bed was the only option. As the afternoon went on, I began to feel tired again but in no way like I had been the day before. It was like I’d just been in a difficult lecture – not exhausted, but tired enough to want to relax in front of the TV. I think this was probably “the crash”, but it wasn’t particularly noticeable. I managed to go the party that evening for a couple of hours. A few days later stress was creeping up on me again. I hadn’t taken fluorenol since April 20, nor had I felt the need to. But on April 24, after my laptop decided to delete the final chapter of my dissertation, I had a lot to do and not enough mental energy to do it. I took 50mg of fluorenol not long after getting up. It’s safe to say I managed to complete my dissertation. I was switched on, awake, and generally calmer in my work. Even as the effects wore off I didn’t feel particularly anxious. Fluorenol just gave me the boost I needed, and once work was out of the way I could go back to normality without having any nasty side effects to worry about.
